I’m using the following methods to increase my blog traffic:

Take time to find the best keywords for your website. You should use a keyword analyzer tool, you can find a lot of this kind of software on the web, I recommend Traffic Travis , it’s a very good and free tool. Try using long tail keywords! Even if the search engine optimization of your web site will take a while once you done it you get constant good traffic.

-Free Social Media Marketing (myspace, facebook, etc)
Personally I find social media marketing to be the easiest and the most enjoyable but it can be a bit hard to get targeted traffic though

- Free Article Marketing
I find that the best article directory is GoArticles and EzArticles.info. I submit a quality article to them with good keyword density.

-Link Exchanges
Exchange links with sites directly related to yours, it will help will bring some decent traffic.
